Safety and training is the most important feature of our operations. All of our employees are required to complete hazardous materials (known as “Hazmat”) and certified employee training program (also known as “CETP”) certification. These certification programs insure that our employees are properly trained on handling, transporting and dispensing propane. Ongoing training also is an important part of maintaining these certifications.
Our employees also are required to comply with a number of additional safety and training guidelines and regulations. For example, our drivers are required to maintain a commercial drivers license endorsement and participate in a pre-employment drug testing and post-employment random drug-testing.
We also have developed and implemented a safety plan. Our safety plan is designed to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Among other things, we distribute safety materials to our customers every year (known as the “duty to warn”).
We also are required to maintain appropriate records that enable regulatory authorities to verify that we are complying with applicable safety rules, regulations and practices.
We encourage you to ask us or the other guys questions about safety. Are all of their employees complying with Hazmat and CETP certification requirements? Do their drivers participate in a random drug testing program? Does their business have a safety plan? Have they had any significant safety incidences, or have their customers had any significant safety incidences? Do they make safety materials and inter-active training available to their customers?
